Future Chevrolet Silverado Spied on Roads

The automotive industry is in a constant state of change to capture the attention of consumers and their buying habits. Recently, a future Chevrolet Silverado 1500 model was spied out testing on public roads. The 2019 Silverado 1500 is expected to make its official debut at the 2018 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.

It has been seen a few times; however, it is always heavily camouflaged and padded to hide its finer details. Even with this disguise, we can still guess at a few details, including the fact that the new model will get an all-new frame.

In order to lose some weight and gain efficiency, the new Silverado is expected to incorporate more aluminum into its body design. In addition, a few prototypes have been spotted that seem to show a new headlight design along with a new grille and bumper.

One model was seen with a side exhaust, which could indicate a new engine option on the Silverado. Current models only have rear exhaust ports.

Here at Teague Chevrolet, we can’t wait to see what the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 and we expect it to be arriving on our showroom floor sometime next summer.

The Army Reportedly Tests the Chevrolet Colorado ZH2 Super-Truck

What do you do with a truck that has won the esteemed Motor Trend Truck of the Year award two years in a row? Easy. You turn it into a superpowered hydrogen-fuel-cell truck capable of unforetold awesomeness. And you call it the Chevrolet Colorado ZH2.

Wrought by combining the vision and prowess of General Motors and the US Army, the ZH2 is considered a tactical vehicle. That means it has been enhanced in any number of ways to ensure it is combat-ready. For instance, the truck needs to be as quiet as a church mouse. Also, the ZH2 must be outfitted with heat shields to help it go undetected by enemy radar.

The project vehicle features what’s known as an Exportable Power Take-Off unit, something that could be quite valuable on the battlefield. It’s essentially a generator, capable of bringing power to remote locations.

The project is still under construction but word around the campfire is that the design team ran some demos that entailed “turning the ZH2 on, charging the batteries, filling it with hydrogen fuel and driving it around the Milford Proving Grounds.” Hey, you’ve got to start somewhere! Maybe the next step is putting the Chevrolet Colorado ZH2 in a Hollywood blockbuster starring The Rock.
