United Way HalloWeinerPawLooza

 halloweiner

What’s better than a dachshund? Why a dachshund in a pumpkin costume, of course! It’s time for the seventh annual HalloWeinerPawLooza, where families and their pups come together for a day of fun that’s equal parts Halloween themed and equal parts dog themed.

The fun starts at 9 a.m. on October 29th at the Boys and Girls club in El Dorado. Put your pup in his or her best disguise and sign them up for the Pet Costume Contest at 9:30 a.m. But don’t let the dogs have all the fun—kids who come in costume can participate in their own costume contest later in the day, and can also enjoy some on-site games and trick-or-treating, presented by United Way. Both costume contests cost $2 for registration.

Then, the classic Dachshund Dash race for dachshunds only begins at 11 a.m. This year, however, there’s no discrimination as the race for the Weiner Wanna Bes (i.e. any other breeds) will begin one hour earlier. Registration is $10 and must be done in advance. Other canine contests, like best trick, best howl and worst breath, will take place as well. Ditch the dog park this October weekend and have a little Halloween fun.

Signs You Need New Brakes

signs-you-need-new-breaks Teague Chevy

How fast your brakes wear largely depends on how and where you drive, making it one of the more inconsistent systems to maintain. Fortunately there are a few notable signs to alert you to a problem. Here are a few of the more common signs you need new brakes. If you’re experiencing any of these problems, stop by Teague Chevrolet and we’ll be happy to diagnose the problem!

  • Pulling – If the car pulls to one side when you press the brake pedal, the brake lines might be wearing unevenly. There could also be something in the brake fluid that doesn’t belong there. Either way, schedule an appointment with our service department as soon as possible!
  • Screeching – One of the most well-known signs you need new brakes comes in the form of a loud, ear-piercing screech. Created by metal hitting metal, the screech means that either you haven’t driven in a while or you need new brake pads. Since it signifies a threat to your safety and the safety of others, it’s important to have your vehicle serviced immediately.
  • Vibrating – Vibrations in the brake pedal can be a sign of warped rotors or that you vehicle is improperly aligned. Either way, have one of our technicians check out your braking system. It’s better to be safe than sorry, after all!

2017 Chevrolet Equinox Special Editions Roll Out

2017_Chevy_EquinoxThe small SUV and crossover segments are on fire this year and, thanks in part to low fuel prices, that isn’t likely to change. Chevrolet is looking to gain more market share by appealing to more customers with the release of several new Equinox models. The 2017 Chevrolet Equinox is attractive as it is and with these new special editions, the selection only grows.

Like vehicles of the past, the latest Chevrolet Equinox will see a new Midnight Edition that boasts a blacked-out look. Exclusive to the LT trim, the special edition adds Mosaic Black paint, a black grille, black Chevrolet bowties, black 18-inch wheels, and jet-black perforated leather seats, just to name a few features.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, the Equinox Sport Edition adds the same interior features, namely perforated leather seats and memory settings for the driver’s seat and side mirrors. Instead of the black paint job, the Sport Edition features a Summit White exterior.

The Equinox will also see the addition of the Graphite Edition, based on the 2LT trim. That special edition includes an integrated assist step, black Chevrolet bowties, dual exhaust, and 20-inch Dark Charcoal wheels. Paint colors include Tungsten Metallic, Mosaic Black Metallic, Iridescent Pearl Tricoat, and Siren Red Tintcoat.

We here at Teague Chevrolet are happy to see the Equinox line growing even further thanks to its incredible popularity!

Chevrolet Ad Campaign Targets Ford F-150

2016_Chevy_Silverado

Chevrolet is taking the Silverado 1500’s durability and utility straight to the Ford F-150. The latest commercial in the long-running Chevrolet ad campaign “Real People, Not Actors” pits the Silverado 1500 and F-150’s beds in a test that won’t be forgotten anytime soon. It’s not every day an automaker drops 800 lbs. of concrete into two trucks, after all.

Chevrolet’s latest ad features two front loaders dumping a total of 825 lbs. of concrete blocks into the beds of the two full-size pickups from a height of five feet. As you’d expect, the results were both awesome and informative.

The Silverado 1500’s bed suffered scratches and dents but was otherwise intact. The same can’t be said for the F-150. The aluminum-bodied pickup’s bed suffered dents, scratches, and was punctured in several places.

To prove the test wasn’t an extreme one, Chevrolet set a toolbox on the railing of each truck and knocked it into the bed, much like what could happen by accident. The results were just as telling as the previous test.

The toolbox left a noticeable dent in the Silverado 1500’s bed but, again, it was intact. Meanwhile, the F-150 took yet another puncture to its bed, sealing the results in steel rather than aluminum, much like the Silverado 1500’s bed.

Here at Teague Chevy, we’re proud to offer the toughest trucks on the market!
